In the United States, politics has been reduced to a multiple choice quiz. Many people identify as either 'Team Republican' or 'Team Democrat', and vote with the intent of being on the winning team. Of course, they do so without ever genuinely understanding the issues at hand or internalizing the fact that there are more than two possible opinions.
I'm Rob Montgomery, the creator of ThirdRail Blog. On this site, I'm going to research and study policy issues of the day and then post my view. You're invited to provide alternative views in the comments, although there are a few limits.
Comments go through a moderation process (managed by me). When you submit a comment, we require that you include your email address. (No, we don't publish it!) We then send you an email to confirm that you are who you say you are. Once we know that you're not a bot, I'll actually read your comment and determine if it expands the conversation. If it does, it gets approved. If it doesn't, if it's crude, if it's hateful, or if it's something I don't want to see on my site, it doesn't.
Let me be clear... you don't have to agree with me. Indeed, it's really hard to write a comment that expands the conversation without disagreeing a little. Your comment is more likely to be approved if you challenge me.
We don't charge a subscription fee, we don't have an account for you to login to. We do reserve the right to serve you ads (some of which may be targeted) from Google AdSense so we can pay the bills.
Oh... and yes. We do use AI as part of our creative process, but every article is edited by a human. I'm that human. (If you see some goofiness, please let me know via the comments or the contact form. I'd appreciate it!)
